Air Rescue and Community Services
Actively Supporting Our Community Air Rescue Services Ltd was incorporated in February 2002 for the purpose of operating gaming machines to raise funds for distribution to charitable and community organisations throughout the Canterbury, West Coast, Otago and Marlborough regions of New Zealand.
Net proceeds from the operation of gaming machines at our Member Venues are returned in the form of grants. The company’s primary funding objective is to support the vital community work of rescue helicopter services in the Canterbury, West Coast, Otago and Marlborough regions. However grants are also made to other community groups and organisations that qualify for grant assistance under the company’s legislated Authorised Purpose.

Halswell, Hornby, Riccarton Community Board
Halswell, Hornby, Riccarton Community Board represents around 61,000 people, 21,500 households in an area extending from Templeton in the west, across to Riccarton and South to Halswell. The community includes Islington, Hornby and Hei Hei, Broomfield, Oaklands, Westlake, Sockburn and Westmorland.Each of the six metropolitan Council wards elect two Councillors, while only one Councillor is elected by the Banks Peninsula ward.
The Board is supported by the Community Board Support Team which provides advice to the Board and ensures that the Board has the information it needs to assist it in making decisions.
The Team arranges board meetings and produces agendas for those meetings as well as providing information to people who want to come and speak with the Board.

Mainland Foundation
The Mainland Foundation distributes funds to the wider communities of New Zealand from the proceeds of gaming machines operated in private hotels around the country.
The Mainland Foundation is an independent hotel-based society licensed to operate gaming machines in hotels and taverns, raising money for distribution to the Community. Our Net Proceeds Committee generally meets twice a month to consider applications.
The Mainland Foundation is a very proud founding member of the Inspire Foundation.
